I'm proud to announce that as of April 14, 2009 at 12:30am, iMSA has offically started its website building campaign by implementing its first sponsored website for the International Business Society http://userwww.sfsu.edu/~ibs_sfsu
The campaign was started as a fundraising event to build up funds for a possible ISYS graduation ceremony. It has since spawned into an education campaign aimed at training future iMSA members the skills need for building basic CSS websites with simple CRM (Customer Relationship Management systems) integration.
Educause is sponsoring a contest for Computer Security Awareness- I just happened to hear about this and there looks like about a month to pursue if you know of a student or other group interested in.
A total of $8,800 will be awarded:
four "gold" prizes of $1,000, four "silver" prizes of $800 and four
"bronze" prizes of $400. The contest is now open and has a deadline of
April 30, 2009.

Let’s face it even at its discounted prices most students can’t afford proprietary software such as Microsoft Office or Adobe Creative and Design Suites. Enter - Free and Open Source Software.
The OpenEducationDisc is a collection of high quality Free and Open Source Software that cover the most common tasks you will need for school work. All programs have been carefully selected by Teachers and Computer Specialists who believe that you shouldn't have to pay lots of money to get a good education.
The entire disc can be downloaded from the following site:

January 13, 2009 Thank you for your contribution of $597 to the One Laptop per Child Foundation. Further we confirm that no tangible benefits were received by you, the donor, in exchange for the gift referenced above. Your order number is 13PGKFL9NEPUS9HHUPJ44LHJJJRDZSPQA25. The mission of the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) movement is to ensure that every school-aged child in the lesser-developed parts of the world is able to engage effectively with their own personal laptop, networked to the world, so that they, their families and their communities can openly collaborate as they learn and learn about learning together. The OLPC Foundation is focused on enhancing and sustaining learning among those children, their families and communities in lesser developed communities by ensuring rich, diverse and open access to innovative learning materials and by encouraging interactive learning, communication and exploration with their XO laptops. For this purpose, the Foundation provides grants and other support for the development and use of collaborative learning resources and other initiatives that enrich children’s learning. Your contribution will help us move forward with these important programs for children. Please tell your friends and colleagues about the One Laptop per Child program (www.laptop.org) and encourage them also to support our mission. Sincerely,
Robert D. Fadel One Laptop per Child Foundation |
